Carrie PrejeanAfter a disastrous appearance on CNN's Larry King Live last week, Carrie Prejean is drawing heat from critics as well as her fellow pageant competitors.

"It just goes to show you how much respect she has, and how disrespectful she is," Chelsea Gilligan, 2009's Miss California Teen USA, said over the weekend.

"Larry King is amazing, he is so sweet. He is the nicest, most easiest interviewer," Gilligan told Inside TV at the 'Planet 51' premiere in Westwood, Calif. "The fact that she would disrespect him on national television, an elder -- I mean, I don't know."

Prejean, the dethroned original winner of Miss California USA's 2009 title and a Miss USA runner-up, appeared on King's show Nov. 11 and repeatedly refused to answer questions about a Nov. 3 out-of-court settlement with pageant producers that started with statements she made about her opposition to same-sex marriage. The lawsuit turned nasty, with claims of libel, contest winnings spent on breast implants, and finally a sex tape involving Prejean.

King pressed the settlement issue and visibly became flustered when Prejean refused to answer his questions. Prejean told King that he was acting "inappropriate" and took off her microphone, though she did not immediately leave the interview.

"I think she is caught up in a lot of the lies that are going on," Gilligan says. "She should really focus on what the truth is. And once you keep lying and lying and lying, it will catch up with you one of these days. Watching Larry King, it didn't seem like she was all there."

Prejean is on the promotional trail for her new book, 'Still Standing.' She is no stranger to controversy, which began earlier this year after her vocal opposition to same-sex marriage. To add to the controversy, reports of several sex tapes Prejean made have surfaced in recent weeks.

Gilligan, who is working as a model for Converse, Skechers and Express, says she was friends at one time with Prejean but that they have had a falling out.

"To tell you the truth, she wasn't all that nice to me," Gilligan says. "She tries to be a good mentor to other people. She wasn't really that nice to me at all. It really hurts me because she was one of my closest friends when all this happened. I guess I wish the best of luck to her in whatever she does."
