Kathy Griffin Law & Order: SVUD-list diva Kathy Griffin is about to star in an upcoming episode of 'Law & Order SVU', TV Guide is reporting.

Griffin will play a lesbian activist in the episode, airing Feb. 10 on NBC. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.

Since Griffin is best known for her comedic work ('Suddenly Susan'; Bravo's 'My Life on the D-List'), we can only hope that the awards-hungry funny lady has booked 'SVU' to win another Emmy. And who can blame her? 'SVU' has dominated the guest acting Emmy categories in recent years, with awards going to Ellen Burstyn, Cynthia Nixon and Marcia Gay Harden.Kathy Griffin Law & Order: SVUD-list diva Kathy Griffin is about to star in an upcoming episode of 'Law & Order SVU,' TV Guide is reporting.

So to help put Griffin on the path to victory, here are three juicy plot lines that we think would get Emmy voters talking -- and, more importantly, voting:

-- A notorious plastic surgeon is found savagely murdered, and clues point to his most famous client: a lesbian activist, played by Griffin. Towards the end of the episode, she launches into a tearful monologue, with social commentary on staying thin and beautiful in Hollywood, before she is outed as the killer.

-- A fame-obsessed lesbian activist (Griffin) gets D-listed from the gay community when she is suddenly accused of murder. Griffin's character maintains her innocence, until Stabler and Benson discover a secret weapon hidden in her closet: gaydar.

-- Griffin's character holds a vigil after a horrific crime is committed, during which she pays tribute with a song co-written by Justin Timberlake. The song later goes on to win Griffin an additional Emmy for original music and lyrics.
