3:56PM **All Timestamps are East Coast Time**

4:00PM For those who didn't already know, this interview is a "world exclusive" interview with Sarah Palin.

4:01PM Oprah welcomes Sarah Palin to her show. She's dressed in a bright teal jacket and the two embrace. Sarah's signature updo -- is down.

4:01PM Oprah addresses the reports that she had "snubbed" Palin for not inviting her on the show.

4:02PM Sarah insists that she has heard more about the "snubbing" in the last few weeks than during the campaign. The allegations didn't register for her, and she heard that Oprah wasn't going to invite her on -- but she has heard things since then.

4:02PM Oprah addresses that her decision to support a candidate as a "private citizen," and for the record -- Sarah Palin did not ask to be on the show. Oprah did extend the invitation after the election and is happy to have her here.

4:03PM Oprah holds up Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue: An American Life" which is already slated to be a bestseller. Asks about the call from John McCain.

4:04PM Palin addresses how she got the phone call and was honored to be part of the campaign. Oprah asks her if she doubted if she was ready for "that job." Palin denies there were any worries and understood the job.

4:06PM Sarah Palin addresses the background and the "one skeleton in my closet." The one skeleton she had to admit before Bristol's pregnancy was Palin finishing a college course at 22. Oprah thought that she would be more concerned at the press finding out Bristol's pregnancy. Sarah Palin admits that if she was given more of an "allowance" to deal with the issue -- she would have focused more on how it should not be glamorized and would be a "tough, tough challenge."

4:07PM Palin re-iterates that she was not happy about Bristol's pregnancy and wasn't necessarily happy to be grandparents. Speaks about the press release that was sent shortly after the announcement and said she had re-wrote the release to focus on controlling teen pregnancy in America. However it was re-written again.

4:08PM Oprah asks if it was true that Bristol found out her pregnancy was leaked on the news. Palin admits that Bristol did find out on the news and asked "Should this be a top news story?" Palin wanted to prevent the "tabloidization" of her daughter and believed it would be taxing-- but would also show a "normal American life."

4:10PM Oprah addresses McCain asking Palin if she was ready to be Vice President. Palin admitted it would be tough on the family, even though her family grew up in politics. Palin admits she was naive to think that the press would leave her family alone. She makes a quick comparison to Obama's experience to his family in the news and how there seemed to be a "double standard."

4:14PM Oprah mentions that 'Going Rogue' will be in bookstores tomorrow and is already a bestseller. She mentions the coaching of Team McCain and asks her about the Atkins diet.
Palin says that they shouldn't have spent a lot of time on what she was eating.

4:15PM Oprah remembers while she was at another convention, she turned on the TV and was waiting for McCain's announcement. [Clip of McCain's announcement of Sarah Palin.]
Oprah remembers thinking "Whoa, where did she come from!" Palin reiterates that she really did think McCain was a "maverick" and used that term again. Although she admits he had a lot of explaining to do.

4:15PM Oprah mentions McCain providing her wardrobe. Palin admits that practically speaking she is not a big shopper. That she was surprised there was controversy for her because others have the same treatment and mentions that there was yet another "double standard."

4:17PM Oprah quotes the book that mentions her family would be "made over" and that Palin believed her family was starring in an episode of "What Not To Wear." Palin admits she went along with it and was convenient again, to have clothes laid out for her. That men get the same treatment, and mentions a comparison to Hillary Clinton. Oprah admits she can't wear the same suit. "Candidates have it less easy than a Ballerina."

4:17PM Oprah continues to the read from the book and asks Palin about how she talked extensively to stay on "Script" was she surprised at how they were trying to control and force Palin to say things she was uncomfortable with?

4:19PM Palin admits that at the end of the day, she's the candidate. Her handlers never really found the script so they couldn't "stay on the script." Oprah asks her about Michigan and how she was told to stay on script. Palin says if she responded candidly, she would say one thing and then was told "Oh Sarah, You went Rogue on us." Which probably seems to be where the title of her book comes from.

4:23PM Oprah asks about the Katie Couric interview. Palin laughs and asks "Must we?"
Palin says that the interview was supposed to be lighthearted, "working mom to working mom." That the interview was initially supposed to be one segment and she was immediately annoyed with Couric's badgering. Palin said that there were many segments planned and hours of tape that were shot and she was "absent" from the packaging of the interviews. That she doesn't blame people for not thinking she was qualified as a candidate.

4:24PM Oprah says "you say in your book that Katie Couric had a partisan agenda." Palin says her agenda was not to show her in the best light. That Couric had just interviewed Joe Biden and his mistakes were ignored.

4:24PM Oprah asks "Did you know it was a seminal defining moment?" Palin admits she didn't know. That her campaign thought she was showing her independence and it was a good interview. Palin admits, it was not a good interview.

4:25PM Oprah plays a clip from the Couric-Palin interview asking about magazines Palin had read. Palin looks as if she cannot name a certain magazine and mentions how Alaska is not a different country. Oprah asks "Why didn't you name some books and magazines?!"

4:26PM Palin said that by the time Couric had asked her the question, she was already so annoyed with Katie Couric. To Palin it felt more of a moment where Couric asking "Do you read?" She felt she was being treated like a Neanderthal in Alaska. Palin says that it's a problem of the state of journalism, which will twist what you say.

4:29PM Palin says that she was annoyed with Couric quickly at the end of her coming off the heels of an amazing rally. There is the perky one (Couric) with the microphone and "Dang, give me a few minutes to gather." Palin wanted people to read the transcript about how Couric had asked her 12 separate times about abortion and the morning after pill, and was never mentioned that she was pro-life.

4:31PM Palin mentions her own special needs baby in the book. Oprah asks about the moment she found out that her baby boy had Down's Syndrome. According to Palin, Todd's reaction (her husband) had a better reaction. She was more frightened than he was. Todd knew they were going to be okay. That he was "happy but also sad." A quote Oprah found touching in Palin's book.

4:35PM Oprah admits that "Everybody has been waiting for the Levi question." She mentions how Levi Johnston was supposed to be her son in law and that he has unflattering things to say about Sarah Palin. Palin admits that a national talk show is not the place to talk about it, yet admits that Levi is an aspiring in "porn." That it's heartbreaking. Levi has been busy on his media tours and has not see his child since he's been on tour. She admits that Bristol and Levi will always be parents together.

4:36PM Oprah asks about what it's like to have someone part of your inner circle going out into the media, how did that make her feel? Oprah said she had to be a little pissed. Palin says the whole premise that Levi has ever lived with Bristol is false. Taking that foundational untruth you can then measure all the other things he's saying.

4:36PM Camera pans to Bristol who is sitting in the audience.

4:37PM Palin says that Levi's road is not a healthy place to be, admits that he's a teenager who is being orchestrated into it. That his baby boy is beautiful, Bristol is a strong mom in college who has Tripp (her grandson) 24/7. Bristol has a lot of family support and has it easier than most. Palin says her only public mission is to remind her sisters and other young peers that there are consequences to unprotected sex. That a girls entire future will change if you become pregnant.

4:38PM Oprah asks if Levi will be coming to Thanksgiving dinner! Audience laughs. Palin says that he probably won't accept an invitation, and that the Palin's are not into the drama and can go down a more productive road. Oprah re-iterates the question and Palin makes an open invitation to Levi to join them at Aunt Katie's (sp?) house!

4:43PM At home video of Trig Palin (Palin's son) is shown and then suddenly we're at the gym with Sarah Palin. She mentions how a year ago, it's nice not to be handled and be able to go where she wants to go. Where she is today is "ideal" and "perfect." It's Halloween in the Palin household and she makes candied apples with her kids and gears up for trick or treating with Piper and Trig.

4:44PM Palin speaks about her children who have put up with a lot and have taught her lessons along the way. Oprah then asks her, "What's it like for your husband Todd?"

4:44PM Palin admits that they have been physically apart for many months a year. That it works for them and they met when they were 16 and 17. They have a very good marriage and pick up and get the work done. They are great partners and have a very strong marriage. Palin admits she is very grateful for him.

4:48PM Oprah asks about McCain's gracious speech on election night and their concession speech. Oprah asks about what she was thinking. Palin said she was disappointed that you "don't run a race to lose." Oprah asks if she was disappointed that she wasn't allowed to speak. Palin said that the explanation she was given was that VP candidates were not allowed to speak. Not having the opportunity to tell America we need to move forward united.

4:50PM Oprah asks about her ability to have been able to juggle 5 children and vice president duties. That this is a question they don't ask men. Oprah feels it's a fair question to ask "how were you going to manage?"
Palin says she was asked this question all along. That she was able to handle this job like men with five kids. That things have changed, at least in her life. That there is so much equality in her marriage. There was never a question that she wouldn't be able to do the job. That her mom had warned her that she can't have it all, but some things would have to be put on the back burner. Oprah, " You can have it all, you just can't have it all at the same time."

4:50PM Palin admits that her support system would blow you away. That she's very blessed and an anomaly in that respect. She says that for practical reasons you do need the help.

4:54PM Oprah says even after reading the book, she still doesn't understand why Palin stepped down from office. Palin says that she wasn't going to run for a second term and was headed into a lame duck term. That after running for VP, everything had changed. That there were FOIA requests sent by Obama administration and ethics requests in Alaska. Her state of Alaska was being hampered by her presence there. Oprah asks how Alaska would be better served by her not being there. Palin says that as an ordinary citizen not having to worry about what she was saying without an ethics violation charge, and uses a Dad's quote, "She's not retreating... she's reloading." Oprah asks, "Are you reloading for 2012?" Palin says she's reloading for 2010 -- and then admits that it's not off the table, but she doesn't know what she's doing in 2012. Palin says it's not on her radar to run for President and says "What I'm seeing is you don't need a title to make a difference."

4:57PM Oprah's final question, "Should I be worried because I have heard you are going to get your own talk show..." Palin admits, "Oprah you are the queen of talk shows, you have nothing to worry about." She says that Oprah can't shut off her mic, and that the inspiration Oprah has provided when she did watch Oprah back in the day -- was a normal American woman being able to handle it all and she appreciates all she's done through the years.

4:58PM Palin plugs her book, how she explains her faith in the book. Oprah wraps up saying that the book is fascinating, that the book is on sale tomorrow. Camera pans to Bristol and Piper, Oprah thanks Piper.
