Irina Wins 'Project Runway' With "Sleek, Modern" Line (VIDEO)

Designer Irina Shabayeva took home top honors as the season 6 winner of 'Project Runway,' beating out Carol Hannah Whitfield and Althea Harper.

Designer Irina Shabayeva took home top honors as the season 6 winner of 'Project Runway,' beating out Carol Hannah Whitfield and Althea Harper.

"Your line was sleek, modern, cohesive, and it told a story, and you knew what kind of woman you were designing for," said host Heidi Klum. "You really did articulate that to all of us beautifully."

As winner for this season, Shabayeva snags herself a feature in 'Marie Claire' magazine, a cash prize of $100,000 for starting her own clothing line, and a paid trip to Paris.

Shabayeva established herself early on as one of the most technically proficient and consistent designers from the season, but also earned a reputation as a bit of a meanie, and proved she wasn't above backbiting and cruel comments aimed at fellow contestants.
