Production on 'Cougar Town' Shut Down Due to "Private Family Matter"

Production on ABC's 'Cougar Town' has been temporarily shut down due to a "private family matter" involving its star, Courteney Cox, EW.com has confirmed.

The good news: 'Cougar Town' already completed three new episodes prior to the shut down. One of the episodes includes Cox's highly-anticipated reunion with her former 'Friends' co-star, Lisa Kudrow. Kudrow will play a dermatologist whose treatments Jules (Cox) quickly becomes addicted to.

No official announcement has been made regarding the issue, although there is one possible explanation for all of this: a baby. During the publicity rounds for 'Cougar Town,' Cox admitted that she and hubby David Arquette were open to the idea of expanding their family. "We're not trying yet," she told OK!, via ABC News. "We're revving up the engines. The couple's first child, Coco, was conceived through in-vitro fertilization when Cox was 39.

"If I was 34, I'd wait another year, because I like those three-to-four gaps. I want Coco to be helping me with the next one. One child is hard. Two is probably harder," she added.

Again, nothing has been confirmed.

New episodes of 'Cougar Town' are slated to air on Nov. 25, Dec. 9 and Jan. 6, 2010. The show was picked up for a full season in October after an impressive debut in the ratings.
