Fangtastic 'True Blood' Busts For Release in 2010

True BloodCalling all fangbangers!

Forget blood lust. Haven't you often found yourself craving a lifelike replica of Eric Northman to sink your teeth into? Well pine no longer, my bloodthirsty friends: thanks to DC Unlimited and their upcoming series of 'True Blood' busts, you'll soon be able to display your homage to the hunky Sheriff of Area 5 on any mantle, bookshelf or nightstand.

The New York Post is reporting that the limited run of mini-busts will also feature the star-crossed (and somewhat whiny) human/vampire couple, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), and will be made to order for release on July 21, 2010.

Proving that size really does matter, the Eric bust is the largest of the lot, at 7.25 inches, while Bill measures a respectable 6.75 inches. Sookie is understandably smaller, at 6.125 inches high, and the preview artwork hints that the level of detail and accuracy will make the busts more than worthy of their $69.99 price tag. It's a definite improvement on similar busts we've seen of late; I'm still trying to recover from the trauma of the Dean Winchester model that Warner Bros. rolled out for the CW's 'Supernatural' a couple of years ago (I think it should be some sort of crime to do Jensen Ackles' face such a disservice).

If you prefer your vampires a little more poseable and a lot more pricey, Twihards are probably already well-aware of the Tonner line of 'Twilight' dolls, though at a cost of $139.99, parents might be more eager to dye Barbie's hair and give Ken a bath in some white paint than splurge on the equally star-crossed (and equally whiny) human/vampire couple, Bella and Edward.

Buy the busts at DC Comics.

Will you be fuelling your V-Juice addiction with these 'True Blood' busts, or will you be saving up for the Twilicious Edward and Bella dolls? Give us your thoughts below!
