I hate to say it, but recent pics of Ebert after his illness make him look like he hangs out with the Emperor or Darth Vader. But he can still contribute to the movie review business by writing his reviews. Speaking of that, he has really become the "grumpy old man" in his written reviews, as he usually hates everything. He should just retire.

Roger Ebert spills the details on the destruction *OF* his show's old set

I think it's a shame that Disney's competitiveness forced it to deny the Smithsonian's request to preserve a piece of American TV & Film history, and, instead, decided to toss the set. Although I can see why Disney might turn down Ebert's request for a new show, telling him that a show he created and starred in for 20-25 years had 'moved beyond him' was a trifle rude.

I'm glad the show is continuing with A.O. Scott & R. Phillips as we do have the need for informed critical film opinions, which doesn't quite exist anymore.

Didn't realize this show was still on the air. Seems pointless now with the ability to read reviews online. But in their heyday, it was worth watching to get an idea of what movies to see.
