The Oct. 2006 events are particularly remembered for the parish's willingness to forgive both the suicidal gunman and his widow. The book's authors, who teach at small Pennsylvania colleges and are considered to be experts on Amish culture, were persuaded to write up the account after being repeatedly contacted by the media and urged to help interpret these themes of forgiveness to a baffled American public.

Williams-Paisley's past work includes seven seasons on the recently canceled ABC comedy 'According to Jim,' as well as roles in the '90s comedies 'Father of the Bride' and 'Father of the Bride II,' opposite Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. She's married to country superstar Brad Paisley.
