Chris Matthews has a giant head on Family Guy (and in real life)

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 1st 2009 5:02PM
This is an amusing clip from Sunday's episode of Family Guy. It's one of those pop culture flashbacks that the show does and has Chris Matthews and his giant head, talking over and interrupting his guest just like he does in real life. Special bonus: an appearance by someone from That 70s Show!

Did you mean to say Chris Matthews is a giant empty head on MSNBC (and in real life)?

Though this clip pretty much represents everything people slag on Family Guy for, I thought it was hilarious when I saw it Sunday and still think it is. What makes Family Guy worthwhile is that they will take the kinda funny random non sequitor and follow it up with another one that builds on the joke (the aforementioned 70s Show cameo) -- it's that "one step too far but not too far at all" that makes the show work.

So long as the flashbacked actor they're referring to is one you'd know. In the case of That 70's Show, you didn't even need to watch the show to know who they were talking about.

Personally, I loved when Peter told Quagmire "We're not aspposed to!", when he tried to grab the can of Koolaid. I just love when Peter acts like a 3 year old.
