That jolting sound you hear is the smack of a metaphorical gavel. According to the Hollywood Reporter, TNT has sentenced 'Raising the Bar' to immediate cancellation, with a low probability of appeal.
The struggling hourlong legal drama, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Gloria Reuben and Jane Kaczmarek, premiered in 2008. It was then returned for a second season, with episodes that began to air last June. 12 of season 2's 15 episodes have been broadcast thus far -- the last being Aug. 24 -- so the cancellation will leave fans wondering when the final three will air, or if it's get-the-DVD time. A look at the TNT's webpage for the show literally shows nothing.

TNT commented on the show's cancellation, citing low ratings as its motive. "Unfortunately, ratings for 'Raising the Bar's' second season did not reach the levels required for TNT to renew the series."
Meanwhile, Gosselaar is far off the studio set. He's starring in the Off-Broadway hit 'The Understudy' opposite Tony-winner Julie White and 'Weeds'' Justin Kirk. He portrays a action-film star who, durng the course of the play, receives some terrible news about his career. Art imitating life much?
