Shield alums to reunite on Lie to Me

Despite the fact that FX's late drama The Shield has only been off the air for a little over a year, it looks like the gritty cop drama's cast just can't get enough of each other -- a handful of them will be staging a mini-Shield reunion on Lie to Me this coming spring.According to the press release from Fox, former Shield cast members Catherine Dent (Danny), Kenny Johnson (Lem), David Marciano (Billings), Benito Martinez (Aceveda), Cathy Cahlin Ryan (Corinne), and David Rees Snell (Ronnie) will all be featured in the episode, entitled "Pied Piper."
With The Unit canceled by CBS and Terriers just entering production for FX, Lie to Me certainly affords executive producer Shawn Ryan the easiest option to reunite his old cast. It's too bad, though, that Walton Goggins (Shane) won't be a part of the episode. However, for anyone who's seen the preview of FX's new drama Justified, it looks like Goggins plays a fairly prominent role in that show and perhaps his schedule was too busy.
Fox recently renewed Lie to Me for a full 22 episode season, but the network has yet to announce a date for when this episode, or any new episodes, will air in 2010. Lie to Me's fall finale, entitled "Tractor Man," airs on Monday, 12/14.
Here's the official episode description of The Shield reunion ep:
"In the 'Pied Piper' episode, Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) is a witness at the execution of Jason Wilke (Marciano), a prisoner he helped convict in the murder of a child 17 years ago. When the victim's aunt and uncle, Faye Sheridan (Dent) and Charlie Sheridan (Martinez), are targeted again, Lightman must face the possibility he sent an innocent man to his death. Determined to uncover the truth, Lightman turns to Michael Wilke (Snell), Jason's younger brother, and Beth Lansford (Ryan), Jason's ex-girlfriend, for more information on what may have happened to 8-year-old Rex Sheridan. The pair lead Lightman to Malcolm Hessler (Johnson), a photographer who becomes the key suspect in the case."
