Kelly MonacoThe level of dancing has improved considerably since the series' inaugural season, but the first DWTS trophy winner still deserves the chance to compete again.
Partner: Alec Mazo
Gilles Marini Season's 8's smoldering runner-up lost to Shawn Johnson, but the fox- trotting Frenchman was an audience favorite, especially among female viewers.
Partner: Cheryl Burke
Mel BThe Spice Girl delivered a powerful Paso Doble that propelled her to runner-up status in season 5. She could be scary competition with another shot at the Mirror Ball trophy.
Partner: Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Apolo Anton Ohno He's the first former Olympian to win the title -- but not the last. The season 4 champion seemed like a natural the first time around, but how will he fare if the competition is a bit more challenging than when he beat Billy Ray Cyrus and Ian Ziering?
Partner: Julianne Hough
Brooke BurkeModels haven't fared well on DWTS, but Brooke Burke was queen of the dance floor in season 7, thanks in no small part to the creative choreography of partner Derek Hough.
Partner: Derek Hough
Mario LopezThe 'Saved by the Bell' star was runner-up in season 3. This was as close as partner Karina Smirnoff ever got to the trophy, and as she's one of the most accomplished pros on the show, you can never count her out.
Partner: Karina Smirnoff
Shawn JohnsonThe petite gymnast mixed youthful exuberance with a surprising maturity to become the series' youngest champion in season 8. However, she'd probably be a long shot to repeat.
Partner: Mark Ballas
Drew LacheyHe defeated runner-up Jerry Rice in season 2 with a freestyle routine that has yet to be surpassed. But how will he do if his original partner, Cheryl Burke, is paired with Gilles Marini?
Partner: Anna Trebunskaya
Monique Coleman Coleman's consistently strong performances never registered with the viewers as well as they did with the judges, hence her fourth-place finish in season 3. She deserves another shot.
Partner: Louis Van Amstel
Donny OsmondAt age 52, the current DWTS champion will have to take his vitamins and bring more than old-school showmanship to the ballroom if he hopes to repeat.
Partner: Kym Johnson
Stacy KeiblerThe most unforgettable legs to ever walk into the ballroom belonged to a former wrestling diva who shocked everyone with her grace and elegance. Head judge Len Goodman even suggested she could turn pro if she desired a career change.
Partner: Tony Dovolani
Emmitt Smith Arguably the least polished performer of the series' former champions, Emmitt Smith beat Mario Lopez and Joey Lawrence in season 3, but given the caliber of competition this time around, he could be the first to go.
Partner: Anna Demidova
Sabrina Bryan She got hosed, plain and simple. The Cheetah Girl didn't even crack the top five in season 5, and her elimination remains the most shocking in the series' history. She'll have something to prove with a second chance.
Partner: Jonathan Roberts
Helio Castroneves The Indy car driver took the checkered flag in season 6, thanks in part to an amazing quickstep inspired by Jim Carrey in 'The Mask.' We've paired his partner Julianne Hough with Apolo Anton Ohno, but he should be just as well-matched with another DWTS veteran.
Partner: Edyna Sliwinska
Kristi YamaguchiShe was the top contender from the very first week in the series' sixth season, and would certainly be one of the favorites again, even without Mark Ballas as her partner.
Partner: Dmitry Chaplin
