FX Renews 'Sons of Anarchy'

The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO) will ride again, as The Hollywood Reporter gives us the not-so-unexpected news that FX has renewed 'Sons of Anarchy.' The one-hour drama series, a hit with critics and audiences alike, will return in September, with 13 brand-new episodes.The news of the series renewal coincides with the announcement that the season 2 finale, which aired on Tuesday, drew in 4.3 million viewers, an all-time series high. The finale pulled in a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49, which brings 'Sons' back around to where it started this season.

'Sons of Anarchy' has received a lot of attention for the various Shakespearean parallels in its plot and characters, particularly 'Hamlet' and 'Macbeth'; and, like the Bard's greatest tragedies, things will probably get more complex -- and, of course, bloodier -- as the story continues.
