Patridge became a main focus as Lauren Conrad's on-again, off-again buddy on the hugely popular MTV series. The half-hour show followed the personal and professional life of Conrad and her move from Laguna Beach to Los Angeles.

But what does this latest announcement mean for Audrina's show? Some insiders have claimed that her return to 'The Hills' will halt production of 'The Audrina Show,' while others have said that filming on the spin off will resume sometime in 2010.

Meanwhile, rep Jennifer Shoucair Weaver has tightened the timeline a bit, claiming that the show will begin filming next week.

The new show will be produced by Mark Burnett, the Brit famous for introducing shows like 'Survivor' and 'The Apprentice' to US audiences.
