'CSI: Miami' Books Anthony Michael Hall

According to PEOPLE, 'The Dead Zone' star will make another primetime mark guesting as a suave former ER doc who has been convicted of murder.

No further details have been revealed about Hall's guest spot, although we do know that he'll begin taping tomorrow for an air date sometime in 2010.

In addition, Hall will be making a guest appearance this Thursday on the NBC comedy 'Community.' In a definite role reversal, the former school nerd will now play campus bully Mike who challenges Jeff to a fight. Hall will be appearing in layers of sweats, finger gloves and the tough guy fake mustache.

Hall is an actor, producer and director who gained prominence playing the quintessential geek in John Hughes '80s movies such as 'Sixteen Candles' and 'The Breakfast Club.' From 2002-2007, Hall was the lead in the USA Network series 'The Dead Zone,' which, at the time, was one of cable's highest-rated shows.

Now in its eighth season on CBS, 'CSI: Miami' pulls in 14.61 million viewers on average.
