FX announced Wednesday that it has ordered 13 new episodes of the fantasy-football-themed comedy, more than doubling its six-episode bounty for season 1, which wraps up Thursday night.

Created by former 'Seinfeld' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' producer Jeff Schaffer, 'The League' stars Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll and Paul Scheer as fantasy-football-obsessed dudes who try to meld their passion into their crowded family and professional lives.

Through five episodes this season, the half-hour show has averaged just over 1 million viewers, leading out of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' at 10:30 on Thursday nights.

For its part, having 'The League' stick on its roster is a good thing for FX, which had previously struggled to develop a comedy complement to 'Philadelphia.'
