5 Worst VH1 Spin-Offs

by Chris O'Connell, posted Dec 15th 2009 11:30AM
VH1 is expanding on its 'Tough Love' franchise by ordering eight episodes of a show that is to include couples, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The spinoff, aptly titled 'Tough Love: Couples,' will feature 'Tough Love' star Steve Ward and his mother JoAnn. The two will assess the relationships of the couples just before they are set to marry, determining if they are fit to tie the knot together.

This is certainly not the first time VH1 has spun off off their popular shows, sometimes unnecessarily. In fact, there are so many spinoffs of their reality shows, we have compiled a list of just the worst ones.VH1 is expanding on its 'Tough Love' franchise by ordering eight episodes of a show that is to include couples, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This is certainly not the first time VH1 has spun off off their popular shows, sometimes unnecessarily. In fact, there are so many spinoffs of their reality shows, we have compiled a list of just the worst ones.

5. Daisy of Love
A spinoff from 'Rock of Love,' itself only a mildly entertaining love competition for Poison's Bret Michaels, the relative of boxer Oscar De La Hoya has a gaggle of sociopaths vie for her attention. This show is especially bad because the host of the show -- no, Daisy couldn't do this on her own -- is former 'Headbanger's Ball' Riki Rachtman. As if Daisy's pouting and affected voice wasn't annoying enough, every episode features Mr. Rachtman weighing in, with a too-cool-for-school attitude.

4. I Love Money
As if the 'I Love' shows weren't derivative enough, VH1 ordered the slightly more deranged version of 'The Real World/Road Rules Challenge,' featuring contestants from just about all of the other Celebreality shows. They compete in physical challenges to earn money and ... well, if you haven't seen this show, consider yourself lucky. Just watch an episode of 'The Ruins' completely drunk and it will be like you saw 'I Love Money.' When 'The Ruins' is considered an upgrade, you know a show is bad.

3. My Fair Brady
VH1 spun off 'The Surreal Life' with a show for two previous contestants that were falling in love. Adrianne Curry, the winner of the first season of 'America's Next Top Model' is, for whatever bizarre reason, infatuated with Christopher Knight, who you might remember as playing Peter Brady on 'The Brady Bunch' about a million years ago. VH1 followed this trainwreck of a couple for three grueling seasons of arguing, drinking and arguing some more.

2. New York Goes to Work
This show was so bad that it had to have been greenlit only because there was nothing else going on at VH1 at the time. Can't you just see them thinking of the newest vehicle from 'Flavor of Love' runner-up and 'New York Goes to Hollywood' "star" New York? Producer 1: "Where do we send her next? We NEED another New York show." Producer 2: "Wait. New York? That sort of rhymes with work! This stuff writes itself!" What they should have done is forced her to actually get a job, instead of pretending to on camera. Well, at least we know who to blame now. See for yourself:

1. Megan Wants a Millionaire
In a twist befitting only the most insanely bad reality shows, 'Megan Wants a Millionaire' was canceled after only three episodes after it was revealed that a contestant, Ryan Jenkins, may have murdered his wife. Then he killed himself. You read that correctly. The show might have been canceled anyway because it was so terrible, but it becomes our worst VH1 spin-off because of the awful luck it brought. In fact, the third season of 'I Love Money' was also canceled because Jenkins was a contestant. This was the most interesting part about this show. By far.
