Craig Ferguson Discusses Suicide Attempt on 'Ellen' (VIDEO)

On 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' 'Late Late Show' host Craig Ferguson discussed his memoir, 'American on Purpose: The Improbable Adventures of An Unlikely Patriot,' which includes frank accounts of alcohol and drug use, as well as an attempt by the late-night host to commit suicide.According to Ferguson, he intended to end his life by jumping of a landmark bridge in London, but got sidetracked when someone offered him a glass of sherry.

"I was actually on my to do it. What happened was, I was going to jump off Tower Bridge in London ... On the way to kill myself, I met a guy and he offered me a drink, and I drank it, and I forgot to kill myself that day," Ferguson told Ellen DeGeneres.
