Review: Survivor Samoa - Two Brains Are Better Than One

(S19E13) Mark your calendars now, folks. The big three-hour finale night for Survivor is this Sunday, December 20, starting at 8 PM ET. The night will start off with the two-hour finale followed by the reunion hour. But we still have a few bodies to cast off the island before they face the jury. Will the original Foa Foa Four make it intact to the final four? Will Russell manage to sell his snake oil all the way to the jury and win the million?
Well, Russell just might win it all. The promos tried to make it appear that he would be in trouble this week. But it wasn't to be. All his trouble was that he had to change his plans and vote off his true blue mullet babe Shambo. I understand why he wanted to keep her around. She's someone that almost anyone could beat with the jury ... especially after her speech at tribal council tonight. The woman isn't too bright. Why would you call yourself a traitor when the jury is made up of the people you betrayed?
To be honest, I think that Mick and Jaison are probably out of the running for the million. Sure, if they were only up against each other for the vote, one would win. For the jury to be an uneven number, it's going to have to be a final three before them, not two. Neither of the guys are all too popular nor do they seem respected by the ex-Galu jury. Mick has been too laid-back through the season while Jaison almost quit. But, at least Jaison has a plan. Mick seems to have none.
Brett, the only Galu remaining, should be a dead man walking. Instead, the kid has kicked up his game. Looking at how poorly all of the ex-Foa Foa do on challenges, he could very well win immunity a few more times. He's good at the mental and physical challenges. If he can make to the finals, he'd be the sure bet for every ex-Galu on the jury. Heck, Natalie might even vote for him unless he's against Russell.
Then there's Natalie. I think she and Brett are going to be the dark horses in the game. While she seemed almost smitten with Brett, we found out tonight how loyal she is to Russell. I can only wonder what she has to say now with his "dumb blond" alliance mentions on the show. Nonetheless, I think she'll remain true to Russell to the end. I believe the jury would vote for Russell for the win if they base it on gameplay.
I'm surprised each week, yet not surprised at all, that no one is thinking of blindsiding Russell. Looking at the Foa Foa Four, they really do trust him. Mick is probably the most skeptical one. But Natalie and Jaison trust him to the final three. And, I think Russell will take them there if Brett stops winning immunity. Russell is devious, slimy, and underhanded, but he's playing a damn good game this season. He's made some mistakes and he tends to talk too much and be too cocky. However, when you're surrounded by sheep, you can be a baaaad dude and win it all. Do you think they'll betray him?
