That's because, according to Broadcasting and Cable, 'The Daily Show With Jon Stewart' and 'The Colbert Report' are at last joining the crystal-clear world of HD.

Both shows were announced for HD capability last January, like their sibling programs on Comedy Central, 'South Park' and 'The Sarah Silverman Program.' Alas, according to the story, it took up considerably more time to sufficiently upgrade the control rooms for the Stewart and Colbert shows when they were also airing four times a week.

The move to HD will be effective with the first weekday evening of the new year: Jan. 4, 2010.
