Glee and Breaking Bad top the Satellite Awards

breaking_bad_desertThe winners of 2009 Satellite Awards were announced on Sunday in Los Angeles, and when you look at the winners on the television side, you have to like the choices. Most of these shows and actors have been on our year-end "best" lists, and if I were to guess, I think you'll see many of these names on the Prime time Emmy nomination roster.

The first thing that jumped out to me was Glee. The Fox musical dramedy was a winner in five different categories, including actors Jane Lynch, Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Kristin Chenoweth -- for her guest role -- recognized. And the show was named Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical.

The one surprise was the True Blood was chosen as Best Ensemble, TV instead of the entire Glee cast.

Another interesting difference here was the lack of love for Mad Men. Bryan Cranston and Breaking Bad received wins instead. Overall, here's all the TV winners -- what's your reaction after reading them:

Actress in a supporting role: Jane Lynch, Glee

Actor in a supporting role: John Lithgow, Dexter

TV series, drama: Breaking Bad

Actress in a series, drama: Glenn Close, Damages

Actor in a series, drama: Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad

TV series, comedy or musical: Glee

Actress in a series, comedy or musical: Lea Michele, Glee

Actor in a series, comedy or musical: Matthew Morrison, Glee

Best ensemble, TV: True Blood

Outstanding guest star: Kristin Chenoweth, Glee
