20/20's real story of The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock included
Unless you've been living in a cave or don't keep up with what's playing at the local multiplex, you probably know that one of the biggest hits of the fall was the Sandra Bullock football movie The Blind Side. No, that's not a typo. It is a Sandra Bullock football movie, but unlike Goldie Hawn's football movie -- Wildcats -- Sandra's movie was very good. It's so good that Sandra's probably going to get her first Oscar nomination and -- depending on the competition -- she could win.
Well, ABC has noticed that The Blind Side has struck a real chord with people. 20/20 will take advantage of the interest in the true story on which the movie is based to present the true story of The Blind Side.
They're calling the special edition of 20/20, "The Blind Side: The Real Story Behind the Movie." That was in case you thought you were going to tune in and see the movie.
No, seriously, on Tuesday, December 29 at 10 p.m., ABC will serve up the special 20/20. Deborah Roberts will host the show which will be chock full of clips from the movie, but will also have an interview with Michael Oher. It's his story that's the basis for The Blind Side. Oher, who is currently an offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, was adopted by the Touhy family and they helped him get through high school and into college and a pro career.
Deborah will also talk to Leigh Anne Tuohy and her family, as well as Sandra Bullock and co-star Tim McGraw.
I've seen the movie -- and I liked it a lot. Also, I'm curious about the real story of Michael and the Touhys. I predict right now that this show will do better in the ratings than anyone imagines.
