What was your favorite season of The Real World?

The Real World
The new season - the 23rd! - of MTV's The Real World debuts tonight at 10. I used to watch this show religiously, but that was a long, long time ago. I missed the first season for some reason, but I really loved seasons 2 and 3 (L.A. and San Francisco). It was actually compelling TV back then, before media-savvy young people went on the show just to get their 15 minutes of reality fame. So I probably won't watch the D.C. season.

The San Francisco season was to me the most "real." The castmates were dealing with real life issues bigger than "hooking up", bar fights and breaking up with boyfriends at home.

Pedro's story was poignant and sad. His positive approach to his illness and honesty about what it was doing to him was so open and revealing that it showed viewers exactly what a person living with AIDS went through.

And Puck - well Puck was just an annoying guy who didn't know how to act like a grown up. He brought so much drama into the house that they finally kicked him out. I bet a lot of people have lived with people who have driven us crazy.

All the seasons are entertaining, but some are deep, and some are quite shallow. Party on, MTV!

I don't agree with San Francisco for one reason: Judd. He is easily the most annoying cast member ever (or at least of the seasons I've seen - I fell out around New Orleans). A pompous twit who could turn any situation into maudlin pap.

In terms of drama, entertainment and interesting television I would probably vote for the San Francisco season. But overall I really liked the London season and the cast. People called them boring and I won't argue, but to me they were also the least irritating and it probably the only house I would have chosen to live in, if given the choice. Plus Jacinda, Kat & Sharon were all adorable.
