What to Watch: NYE Edition

New Year's Rockin' Eve - Thursday December 31, 10 pm, ABC


For the first time, the pre-taped musical segments will originate in Las Vegas, where they really know how to throw a party. Fergie will play hostess, with musical acts The Black Eyed Peas, Robin Thicke, Colbie Caillat and many more. Jennifer Lopez returns from the rock she crawled under to perform live in Times Square, along with 'American Idol's Daughtry.

Kathy Griffin returns to co-host with TV's sexiest newsman, despite criticism for her not-exactly-family-friendly style last year. They'll be live in New York's Times Square and will also have a Vegas connection, with Lance Bass reporting from Planet Hollywood there.

Citytv New's Year Eve Bash - Thursday December 31, 9 pm, Citytv/Omni 2

2010 marks the 25th anniversary of Toronto's NYE bash, with Jarvis Church, Kardinal Offishall and more performing live at Nathan Phillips Square. And if you decide to attend the party live and in person, the TTC is offering free rides home after midnight.

Live From Lincoln Centre - Thursday December 31, 9 pm, PBS

The New York Philharmonic plays popular favourites by Gershwin & Copland, plus hits from Broadway, all live from New York's premiere venue.

Entertainment Tonight Canada New Year's Eve Special - December 31, 11 pm, Global

Canada's most beautiful and vacuous "news" team broadcasts live from Niagara Falls, with performances by such luminary bands of yore as STYX and Glass Tiger.
