New Year's Resolutions for Our Favorite Shows
by Gary Susman, posted Jan 1st 2010 8:00AM
Sure, you've resolved to make some positive changes in your life after you wake up from your hangover on Jan. 1, but will your favorite shows do the same? Here are some resolutions we'd like to see our favorite shows stick to in 2010.•'American Idol': Don't make us miss Paula.
• 'Big Love': Stop trying to find Bill a fourth wife. Three is about all he (and we) can handle.
•'Community': More Abed. More Abed and Troy rapping. Oh, and please kill Britta.
• 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation': Laurence Fishburne is a fine, fine actor. But please bring back William Petersen! We miss Grissom.
• 'Glee': The teens are terrific, the adults -- meh. Except for Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch). Love her. Otherwise, please focus more on the kids.
• 'The Good Wife': Would it be so bad if Alicia lost a case every once in a while? She's not Matlock. More Kalinda (Archie Panjabi). And get those kids a parental filter on their Web browser.• 'Gossip Girl': No more threesomes. Feh.
• 'Grey's Anatomy': Give us a reason to start watching this show again.
• 'House': There's been too many comings and goings among House's little helpers this season. Pick some, new or old, and keep 'em. But do bring back Cameron.
• 'How I Met Your Mother': Could we please have a real clue already?
•'Lost': We've been waiting five years for satisfying answers. For the love of Jacob, please don't disappoint us.
• 'The Office': More "diabolical plans" by Dwight. And more pranks -- we miss those. Oh, and just get Andy and Erin together already.
• 'Parks and Recreation': Please keep resisting the temptation to turn Leslie Knope into Michael Scott. And more Tom (Aziz Ansari).
•'30 Rock': Liz (Tina Fey) has now become the least interesting character on the show. (Bring back her old hair, please). Not that that's necessarily bad; this season has allowed many of the supporting characters to shine. More of that, please: more Lutz, more Pete, more Grizz and Dot Com, more Cerie, more New Guy. And more Julianne Moore as Jack's new love interest. The Moore, the merrier!
• 'True Blood': More Eric (Alexander Skarsgård). (Editor's note: ... shirtless. Ahem.)• '24': Enough with the moles! And with turning characters we love (like Tony) evil.
