Have you heard that Laura Dern is starring in a new HBO comedy called Enlightened? Of course you have. What might be news is that both Luke Wilson and Diane Ladd are joining the cast of the same show.

Dern plays a self-destructive character named Amy who tries to clean up her own life. Ladd is Laura Dern's real-life mother and she's best cast as, a drum roll please, Amy's mother. This is an example of art imitating life. Of course, since the pair have already done movies and television together (including a dual Academy Award nomination for Rambling Rose, they're probably used to each other by now.

Wilson plays Amy's drug-abusing ex-husband. His last television appearance was a recurring role on That 70's Show. This is a step down from his usual movie roles (such as the under-appreciated Idiocracy). However, this is definitely a step up from his recent AT&T commercials.
