The single-camera show, which was first announced back in October, will be executive produced by Carolla's and his longtime collaborator, Jimmy Kimmel.

The production team also includes another frequent Carolla collaborator, Kevin Hench. Last year, the pair made an ill-fated comedy pilot for CBS, 'Ace in the Hole.' Before that, they wrote the screenplay for the 2007 Weinstein Co.-distributed feature 'The Hammer,' which starred Carolla.

As for the contractor role, it should suit Carolla, who worked in the SoCal's San Fernando Valley as a builder before his comedy talents were discovered by Los Angeles-area radio station KROQ-FM in the early 1990s.

Carolla hosted the morning drive-hour show on CBS Radio's KLSX-FM until early-2009, and now does a popular podcast. And, of course, in the 1990s, he also hosted, along with Kimmel, Comedy Central's 'The Man Show,' which featured robustly-chested women bouncing on trampolines, among other innovative segments.
