The industry web site FTVLive.com reported earlier today that NBC was canceling The Jay Leno Show. I'm not a member of that site so I can't read the article, but it looks like it doesn't matter anyway. NBC now says that the story is false and that Leno is staying exactly where he is.

Well, that's sort of what they're saying. NBC says that Leno is "performing exactly as anticipated."* The network also says that "both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with [the affiliates] to improve the performance." Though I think most of the affiliates are probably saying "please get rid of the show."
