The real reason The Jeff Dunham Show went off the air

by Danny Gallagher, posted Jan 7th 2010 10:02PM
How is it possible for a show to go from drawing the biggest opening ratings ever for a network to cancellation in one season? That's easy: a breakdown in creative differences between the host and his cast.

Unfortunately for Jeff Dunham, his cast is a bevy of inanimate puppets that he controls. So when creative differences break down between him and his cast, it's probably due more to a breakdown in cognitive faculties and a lack of strong anti-psychotic drugs than creative differences.

Comedian Rob Lathan explained just how such a thing can happen in this Funny or Die video.

Show got cancelled because the comedy is not funny.
Dunham has had a high level of success in standup concerts. But apparently he made the mistake of allowing someone else to write for his weekly show. The lack of quality doomed what could have been a very popular show with families.
Apparently Comedy Central prefers to steer clear of family entertainment and favors a more childish , prat-boy style of programming.

Maybe the show was just too lowbrow and stupid, even for a network that showcases a singing piece of excrement every year on "South Park".

Who's lowbrow and stupid?

One of the 'inside' jokes of Southpark is how not low-brow it is.

Too true. Dunham's funny... if you're 12.
