A&E, when announcing the seven-episode 'Strange Days' last November, said in a press release, "Saget immerses himself in different unusual cultures from the world of mail-order brides to joining a survivalist cult prepping for the end of the world to rushing a fraternity ... [He will] uncover the humanity and shared values inside all of these odd and absurd situations that each of us will be able to relate to."

We caught up with Saget at Wednesday's Hollywood premiere of 'Youth in Revolt,' produced by his longtime friend (and 'Farce of the Penguins' producing partner) David Permut.

What's happening?
I go to shoot a show for A&E in about two weeks; it's called 'Bob Saget's Strange Days.' It's an hour comedy-doc show. We shot one in the Ukraine already where I got guys mail-order brides. It's a hardcore A&E kind of thing. It's gritty. I'm excited about it. I go on the road with a biker gang. It's hard, because it's like 100 hours of straight shooting. I grow a beard by the end of it. Hopefully not drink too much on camera.

What made you want to do 'Strange Days'?
It was a show I conceived about 10 years ago. I have been trying to get it made for a long time. My partners on it are the Brillstein Entertainment people and the Tijuana [Entertainment] people who do 'Obsessed' [and 'The Two Coreys'] on A&E. A&E are the coolest people I have worked with in a while. It was kind of organic when it just happened. It's something I wanted to do that just happened. So, it will keep me busy for a few months.

What's going on with your comedy?
I think I'm going to do another stand-up special, but I'm not sure. People need to be entertained right now. I'm trying not to be dirty anymore in my standup, and it's not working.

Don't you have a girlfriend? How do you balance it?

I'm single for over a year. I have wonderful daughters, a mother, an ex-wife and an ex-girlfriend. There are a lot of issues. I have major issues that I will be working out for the rest of my life.

Are you going to do another 'Entourage'?
I'm friends with all of those guys; I like [creator] Doug Ellin very much. I wouldn't be surprised or maybe or -- I'm not allowed to talk. But we have been talking about it, because it is so much fun.
