'Chuck' Season 3 Preview and Predictions

by Jane Boursaw, posted Jan 10th 2010 12:30PM
Chuck Season 3, Zachary LeviSeason 3 of 'Chuck' premieres tonight on NBC at 9PM, but rest assured, it's "No more Mr. Nice Spy!" Chuck discovers all sorts of new talents, including kick-ass fighting skills, the ability to play the guitar (very well, we might add), and even the prowess to sweep a lady off her feet on the dance floor.

Good news? We think so! Chuck's geekiness is still a big part of him, but we'll embrace the new Chuck 2.0 super-spy with gusto.

When last we saw the Chuckster in the season 2 finale, he had turned in his pocket protector at Buy More and picked up a jaw-dropping check for government services rendered during the past three years. At Ellie's wedding, Chuck pulled Sarah into the hallway. "Sarah Walker, will you do me the honor of ... taking a vacation with me?" But alas, Sarah was planning to leave in the morning to work with Bryce.Chuck Season 3, Zachary LeviSeason 3 of 'Chuck' premieres tonight on NBC at 9PM, but rest assured, it's "No more Mr. Nice Spy!" But alas, Sarah was planning to leave in the morning to work with Bryce.

Things went from bad to worse as Ted Roark showed up threatening to kill the bride if Chuck didn't hand over the Intersect cube, and Special Forces rappelled into the wedding a la James Bond. By episode's end, however, Ellie got the shore-side wedding she always wanted, and Chuck 2.0, armed with the new Intersect, got to kick some butt. "Guys, I know kung fu," he said, after leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.

What's in store for season 3? Here are a few things we wouldn't mind seeing:

- Chuck and Sarah together in a committed relationship and chasing the bad guys together. It could be the 'True Lies' sequel we've always dreamed of.

- OK, a little angst would be fine. Let's have Chuck wrestle with his newfound spy skills while Sarah struggles to accept the new Chuck 2.0.

- A Scott Bakula return. Hey, he can take a little time away from his role on the awesome 'Men of a Certain Age.'

- An Anna and Morgan wedding? Yeah, maybe.
