'Code 58' -- which is Dallas police speak for a routine investigation -- follows a young, ambitious and by-the-book detective (Hanks) who is relegated to the mundane petty crimes department with his boozy, maverick old-school partner (Whitford). The series also stars Jenny Wade ('Reaper') and Diana Maria Riva ('Castle'). Tim Matheson (who has also appeared, along with Whitford and Riva, on 'The West Wing') directed the pilot.
