Review: Two and a Half Men - Fart Jokes, Pie and Celeste

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 12th 2010 9:30AM
How great is it that Jake Harper has turned into a rotten teenager? No more the butt of the joke (okay, he still is on many occasions), now at least he's dishing it out as well as getting it. This was one of the better shows of the season and I think it's because they shipped Chelsea out early on. Can she stay away permanently? More on that and the mice at play after the jump.

Charlie is much funnier when Chelsea is out of sight. Has anyone else but me noticed this? I was ready to take Chelsea to the airport if he didn't want to. The fiance just brings down the comedy. No offense to the actress... The formula of Two and a Half Men is out of whack with her hovering.

Alan hovering, on the other hand, is hilarity. Poor Alan, so desperate for human contact; so clueless about how clingy he is. Buff Malibu doctor, indeed. I did think it was strange that Charlie was so down on spending time with Alan. There have been numerous times when they've been out to dinner, a movie, the coffee shop. I guess Charlie draws the line at mall food courts... or maybe it was the kebabs?

Herb and Alan were like a match made in heaven. They even had the same uniform. In the first scene, they had white undershirts with horizontal stripe Polo shirt. Later, they were in long-sleeve, vertical stripe button-downs. Naturally, Judith was attracted and married both these shmendricks and now she's intent on punish they both.

Watching Herb and Alan at the window evoked Romeo and Juliet, and you have to hand it to Jon Cryer and Ryan Stiles for selling it. They flirt close to the gay line without ever really suggesting that they're gay. They're just goofy and needy.

Jake's still pissed at Charlie and, unlike his uncle, he's not getting over losing Celeste because he took Charlie's advice. Jake's wayward attempts to win Celeste back were again undermined by Charlie's advice to be honest. Why would Jake ever think that Charlie knew how to mend a broken relationship? Oh, right, Jake's a dim bulb. Well, at least he knows how to avoid a spritz in the face.

Well poor Charlie has to go to rehab, again! These people make good money for the time they put into these show's.It's a good thing the whole world doesn't act like they do. This is a good show, so boy's and girls lets wake up, or you might be out of work.

Great Show! I was glad to see the girl friend gone. The man crush was great, Allan and Herb played their parts well. I will be tuned in to see how far this crush will go...HA!

I am so confused with the out-of-order shows. Why was Chelsea out of the picture last week and back in this week? Last week was the classic.
-Second: Why does Charlie not remind the kid he is a visitor? Jake is not swift enough to trade on the "you love me" guilt. No adult would take the guff. Not funny when the surliness never ends. The kid needs straightened out by some adult presence. I don't know why the kid was at the house this weekend as Alan seemed absent most of the time experiencing yet another mancrush

Yes about Chelsea. So annoying right down to the name.
Show definitely was getting real draggy and it's her. Was
one of better one. Hopefully maintains that level.
Big Bang was good too. CBS has lock on this slot.
And Jake is bringing show up too.
