This Perfect Strangers fan is standing tall on the wings of his dream

I've always wanted to redo the opening of a TV show, though I can never really make up my mind which one it would be. Laverne and Shirley? Or how about T.J. Hooker? I think I could do Adrian Zmed's roll on the car hood.

This Pop Candy reader and his friend did the opening of Perfect Strangers, filming it in their city of Seattle instead of Chicago. The original is after the jump.

That was quite a fun watch! In fact, here's a TV show opening redo of "Trapper John M.D.:

I thought this was really well done, and a lot of fun to look at how well it paralleled the original.

This was a very geeky thing to do, but I it made me chuckle. This seemed to take a lot of dedication. I would like to know if this was a film school project as well, but I'm also content believing they did this just for fun.

And...? I don't get it, they remade the opening, nice production values, but why? Film school final project? Trying to impress some production company? Bringing back "Perfect Strnagers?" 'Splain, someone!
