Not Just 'Friends' Anymore: Ranking the Cast's Post-Show Careers

Could it be a better day for fans of 'Friends'?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, ABC has greenlit the new comedy series 'Mr. Sunshine,' starring Chandler Bing himself, Matthew Perry.

The single-camera show was conceived and written by Perry, alongside Alex Barnow and Marc Firek, who together worked on shows like ''Til Death' and 'Family Guy.'

The show centers around a 40-year-old San Diegan having a mid-life crisis. Perry joins 'Friends' alum Courteney Cox on the newtork, whose show, 'Cougar Town,' was recently renewed for a second season.

With news of another 'Friend' potentially making their way back into our primetime lives, we thought about the different career trajectories that each cast member has experienced since the show ended in 2004. In lieu of anything scientific, here's our rankings of how they've fared over the years.

With news of another 'Friend' potentially making their way back into our primetime lives, we thought about the different career trajectories that each cast member has experienced since the show ended in 2004. In lieu of anything scientific, here's our rankings of how they've fared over the years.

Courteney Cox1. Courteney Cox
Cox's career is hotter than ever right now, thanks to the hit -- and now Golden Globe-nominated -- ABC comedy 'Cougar Town.' The project reunites here with Bill Lawrence, who worked with her in a three-episode stint on 'Scrubs,' and we love it so much that we're willing to forgive her for the not-exactly-great FX series 'Dirt' (well, maybe not).

Jennifer Aniston2. Jennifer Aniston
Aniston has managed a pretty successful run on the big screen, with roles in box-office hits like 'Marley & Me.' She's also made a few returns to the small screen, including a guest stint on '30 Rock,' which last year earned her an Emmy nomination. Out of all the 'Friends,' Aniston has done the best job of avoiding any major career pratfalls; we just wish we could say the same about her experience with the tabloids.

David Schwimmer3. David Schwimmer
Schwimmer's post-'Friends' has been diverse in both acting and directing. He's done a host of theater work, including a lead role in Broadway's 'The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial', as well as making his directorial debut in the Simon Pegg vehicle 'Run Fatboy Run.' He voiced the character of Melman in the 'Madagascar,' films and also has had guest spots on '30 Rock,' 'Entourage' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm.'

Lisa Kudrow4. Lisa Kudrow
Kudrow has mostly shied away from her Phoebe persona; instead, she's poked fun at actresses aging in the short-lived HBO comedy 'The Comeback,' for which she received an Emmy nomination, and now has her own successful web series called 'Web Therapy.' On the big screen, she's appeared in 'P.S. I Love You,' the childrens film 'Hotel For Dogs' and the ensemble drama 'Powder Blue.' She's serving as executive producer on a new show for NBC called 'Who Do You Think You Are?,' in which celebrities trace their family trees. Most recently, she filmed a guest spot on Cox's 'Cougar Town,' playing the meanest dermatologist in town.

Matthew Perry5. Matthew Perry
Matthew Perry's career has been a little up-and-down since 'Friends.' The random choice to star opposite Zac Efron in 2009's '17 Again' probably didn't sit well with his older fans, who championed him during the short-lived Aaron Sorkin vehicle 'Studio 60 at the Sunset Strip.' That said, he did receive an Emmy nomination for his performance in the TNT movie 'The Ron Clark Story,' and is on the verge of a TV comeback based on today's news. So, not too shabby.

Matt LeBlanc6. Matt LeBlanc
Hey, Matt: How you doin? Maybe not that well. After the demise of the 'Friends' spin-off 'Joey,' went under, his career was seemingly dormant. But this year could be different: he's scheduled to appear in a Showtime/BBC show called 'Episodes,' in which he will star as himself. He never rubbed anyone the wrong way, so here's hoping it goes well.
