'Amazing Race' Season 16 Cast Revealed

Jordan Lloyd had to overcome a number of obstacles on her way to winning 'Big Brother' last fall, avoiding backstabbers, coup d'etats and secret coalitions. But how will she fare when she has to deal with a broken ox?
Well, fans of reality TV are about to find out, because CBS has announced that Lloyd and her 'Big Brother' boyfriend Jeff Schroeder will be among the teams competing in the new season of 'Amazing Race,' set to premiere on February 14.
This isn't the first time that CBS has indulged in a little cross-promotion; America's least favorite sweethearts, "Boston" Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, also made the jump to 'Amazing Race' following successful stints on 'Survivor.' The strategy is part of the network's ongoing efforts to secure an audience for 'Race,' which despite winning the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition in each of the seven years it has been awarded still trails 'Survivor' in the ratings. After a relatively weak effort from 'Big Brother' last summer, however, this time around the stunt may be designed to help both sides of the equation.

Whether the presence of Jordan and Jeff will attract extra viewers, though, remains to be seen; despite a controversy over Schroeder's use of a homophobic slur on 'Big Brother' (which was edited out of the network broadcast), he and reality squeeze Lloyd became two of the show's most popular contestants ever, with Schoeder winning $25,000 thanks to a fan vote. But though that kind of drama is par for the course on 'Big Brother,' it would be unusual on 'Amazing Race,' which tends to focus less on manufactured tension and more on the competition itself.
So who will be going up against the reality heavyweights? As usual, host Phil Keoghen will be greeting an offbeat mix of contestants at the mat, including a team of undercover detectives (Rhode Island residents Louis Stravato and Michael Naylor), a septuagenarian personal trainer and her granddaughter (Texans Jody Kelly and Shannon Foster) and a pair of cowboy brothers named Jet and Cord (McCoy, that is, straight out of Oklahoma).
Most intriguing, though, is the presence of former Miss Teen South Carolina Caite Upton, who famously mangled a geography question on national television during the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant. No doubt producers were salivating at the thought of making her actually navigate the globe, but she states on her official CBS bio that her biggest accomplishment in life is "being able to overcome the embarrassment' of that flub. So, perhaps she will surprise the nation again, this time in a positive way.
Rounding out the field are the typical married couples, siblings, parent-child combos and, of course, the dating people who hope the race will help determine whether or not they are meant to be together. We're not sure a surly rickshaw driver is the best relationship counselor, but then again, compared to the Petri dish of 'Big Brother,' just about anything must seem normal.
Here's the complete list of contestants, boiled down to their base elements:
