Food Network, HGTV Return to Cablevision

Finally, some good eats for Cablevision customers.

According to a press release, the cable company has reached a deal with Scripps Network Interactive to allow its Food Network and HGTV programming to return to its subscribers, starting today.

This effectively ends the nearly month-long stand-off over contract disputes between Cablevision, which provides service to more than 3 million households in the tri-state New York area, and Scripps Network Interactive, which owns Food Network and HGTV.Finally, some good eats for Cablevision customers.

According to a press release, the cable company has reached a deal with Scripps Network Interactive to allow its Food Network and HGTV programming to return to its subscribers, starting today.

This effectively ends the nearly month-long stand-off over contract disputes between Cablevision, which provides service to more than 3 million households in the tri-state New York area, and Scripps Network Interactive, which owns Food Network and HGTV.

Cablevision customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have had to do without Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis and HGTV's 'House Hunters' since Jan. 1 of this year. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Said Cablevision president of cable & communication John Bickam in a statement: "Food Network and HGTV have strong loyal followings and we are pleased that both channels are back where they belong on Cablevision and available to our customers in both standard-definition and free HD."
