Alan Cumming to appear on The Good Wife

alan_cumming_broadway_worldWhen last seen on TV -- by me -- the super-talented Alan Cumming was singing "That's Life" on the M&M float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Well, in his next TV gig, there's no music on the agenda. Alan Cumming will be guesting on The Good Wife, playing a character by the name of Eli Gold.

Robert Keck interviewed Graham Phillips, who plays Zach Florrick on the show, the teenage son of Chris Noth and Julianna Margulies' characters. Graham revealed that Gold is brought in to rehabilitate his dad's reputation.

On the show, it's hard to tell if Peter is truly a wronged man, a victim of making a bad choice to cheat, or something worse? That very doubt -- played by Noth as Peter -- and enforced by the clues uncovered about what he was doing as D.A. before he resigned his office and was imprisoned, adds to excellent story telling on The Good Wife. You're just never sure if Peter deserves another chance from Alicia or not?

Cummings' character, by the very nature of being an image consultant, will probably not clear things up. His job will be to make Peter look good, whether he is or not.
