This post has a major spoiler about Mad Men, so don't read it

Mad Men
So there's a major character leaving AMC's Mad Men, and this is probably one of those casting decisions that's going to make dedicated Mad Men fans very upset. They might even Twitter or text "OMG!" to their friends.

But I'll put the announcement after the jump for those of you who don't want to know. The person leaving Mad Men is...

...someone who has kinda already left the show. It looks like Bryan Batt, who played Sal Romano, is not coming back to the show.

He was supposed to be notified by the end of December about coming back, but they never notified him. Creator Matthew Weiner says that losing Batt was "a tough moment for the show," and says it was "an expression of the times that he couldn't work there anymore."

Let's hope that somewhere down the line the show does find a place for Sal Romano. Maybe not as a full-time thing but just guest appearances so we know that our favorite art director is OK.

yeah - sal was sorta written out but with the gang forming their own agency - don seemed to like sal's work - you felt like sal would return next season. but i guess that is not meant to happen. too bad, sal the character was interesting but maybe they felt that there was not much more they could do with sal and his being closeted in the mid 60's??? who knows - but they moved on now................

For the record, I really appreciate the way this news was handled by TV Squad. I didn't read anything after the break (or any of the previous comments).

If I'm gonna bitch about the way you used to do it, the least I could do is compliment you for changing things up. Thanks.
