The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's WeddingControversial 'Bachelor' couple Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney are out to prove everyone wrong -- and they're going to do it on TV.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the soon-to-be-Mesnicks will star in their very own wedding special, aptly titled 'The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding.' The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the soon-to-be-Mesnicks will star in their very own wedding special, aptly titled 'The Bachelor: Jason and Molly's Wedding.' The two-hour event, airing Mar. 8, will follow the couple before, during and after the ceremony, and will invite former 'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' contestants to participate in this special prime time event.

One contestant who probably won't be attending (or watching, for that matter) is Melissa Rycroft. Rycroft was Mesnick's original choice on 'The Bachelor' season 13, and was then infamously dumped in front of rolling cameras during the reunion special. It was there in which Mensick revealed that he had fallen for runner-up Malaney. The couple has been together ever since.

Now, Mensick and Malaney will look to quite literally follow in the footsteps of 'Bachelorette' super-couple Trista and Ryan Sutter. They're the only couple in the franchise's history to marry, and they did it during the 2003 TV special 'Trista & Ryan's Wedding.' The event drew over 17 million viewers, according to the report.

Whether or not Jason and Molly will attract a similar-sized audience remains to be seen. On the one hand, it can be assumed that their approval ratings aren't exactly sky-high, given what happened between Jason and Melissa.

However, a good scandal always sells, and the televised wedding may attract additional viewers who tune in simply to see whether Jason has any tricks left up his sleeve (because, as we've learned with him, nothing is certain until he says "I do.") Plus, there still appears to be a vested interest in the franchise, given the rising ratings of its current edition, 'On the Wings of Love.'
