Julianne Moore, Maria Bello Among Big Name Talent on Nets' "Wish List"

Julianne MooreOnce upon a time, hot shot movie actors would never have deigned to stoop so low as to appear on -- gasp --- TV, but thanks to big screen talent like Glen Close ('Damages'), Alec Baldwin ('30 Rock') and Laurence Fishburne ('CSI) having made the leap, more and more "A listers" have begun to think of the old boob tube as less, well, boob-y.

In fact, during any given pilot season, the networks compile a "wish list" of movie stars they'd love to get their mitts on and this year's no different. The Hollywood Reporter details that this time 'round, Oscar nominee Julianne Moore and indie darling Maria Bello rest atop the list for several of the more meaty female roles.

It seems that Moore, who's been dipping her toes into the television pool with a [much-mailgned] guest arc on '30 Rock' would be the dream addition to the Peacock net's take on PBS' long-running 'Prime Suspect.' ABC, too, has its eyes on Moore for its upcoming comedic drama 'Scoundrels' but has also approached Bello and former box office heavyweight-turned-compulsive-tweeter, Demi Moore about the role of a mom who tries to get her family of small-time criminals back on the straight and narrow.Julianne MooreOnce upon a time, hot shot movie actors would never have deigned to stoop so low as to appear on -- gasp --- TV, but thanks to big screen talent like Glen Close ('Damages'), Alec Baldwin ('30 Rock') and Laurence Fishburne ('CSI) having made the leap, more and more "A listers" have begun to think of the old boob tube as less, well, boob-y.

It seems that Moore, who's been dipping her toes into the television pool with a [much-mailgned] guest arc on '30 Rock' would be the dream addition to the Peacock net's take on PBS' long-running 'Prime Suspect.' ABC, too, has its eyes on Moore for its upcoming comedic drama 'Scoundrels' but has also approached Bello and former box office heavyweight-turned-compulsive-tweeter, Demi Moore about the role of a mom who tries to get her family of small-time criminals back on the straight and narrow.

The Hollywood Reporter also points out that NBC contacted Bello regarding a role on Jerry Bruckheimer's new "fugitive-apprehension" show 'Chase' -- a part that TV veterans Tea Leoni and Christina Appelgate were also considered for and that Appelgate, still-smarting from the cancellation of her sitcom, 'Samantha Who?,' received an offer from CBS to star in its female-centric comedy 'Open Books.'

Of course, there are some hunky actor types that the nets are drooling over too. Among them, teen heartthrob-cum-bona-fide-thespian, Matt Dillon, whose name has been bandied about for both NBC's new 'Rockford Files' as well as a new cop drama at FOX called 'Ridealong' and 'Brotherhood' hottie, Jason Isaacs (whose role of Lucius Malfoy in the 'Harry Potter' series has kept him largely unavailable).

Whether the networks have their "wishes" granted remains to be seen -- the rest of us are just keeping our fingers crossed for a halfway decent TV season.

Tell us: Which star on the networks' wish list would you love to see on TV?
