'Mind Hunter' is based on 'Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit' by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The book chronicles Douglas' experiences as an FBI investigator and the unique profiling techniques in which he developed. 'Dexter' producer Scott Buck will write the pilot and will serve as co-producer, alongside Theron, Fincher and Jennifer Orme Erwin.

Charlize Theron's upcoming feature projects include 'Fury Road,' the fourth installment of George Miller's 'Mad Max' franchise. David Fincher's next film, 'The Social Network,' which chronicles the creation of Facebook, opens in October. Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake co-star.
