TLC Orders Third Season of 'Cake Boss'

by Jane Murphy, posted Feb 1st 2010 11:15AM
TLC has decided to add another layer to the tasty pastry that is 'Cake Boss': According to Variety, New Jersey baker extraordinaire Buddy Valastro and his family will all return for a third season.

Founded in 1910 -- five years before the birth of Hoboken's other institution, Frank Sinatra -- Valastro's family business, Carlo's Bakery, caters to the rich and famous -- and sometimes just the rich. The show tracks the cake-baking process from start to finish, and features dazzling, sometimes bizarre, orders, such as a talking cake and a frosted replica of a roulette table.TLC has decided to add another layer to the tasty pastry that is 'Cake Boss': According to Variety, New Jersey baker extraordinaire Buddy Valastro and his family will all return for a third season.

In this clip, watch as one of Buddy's days becomes a circus -- literally.

This season, Mary Sciarrone (aka Buddy's sister) could be poised to take over TLC's prima diva status now that Kate Gosselin has moved on. We named Mary one of reality TV's most evil villains after a number of highlights during season two, like when she went behind Buddy's back to paint his precious kitchen pink. To pardon the pun, things got pretty heated afterward.

New episodes of 'Cake Boss' will begin airing in May.
