'Freshmen' was picked up last week, where Malins talked more about the show's premise. "One [of the friends] is swept up in the movement of change and goes to D.C. to make a difference," he said. "One has been in politics for a long time; and one is a master of the media."

'Freshman' will mark a reunion of sorts for Chalke. Not only is she returning to ABC, which housed 'Scrubs,' she'll also be re-united with Malins, whom she worked with on 'How I Met Your Mother.'
