Variety also notes that, though the live telecast of the 2010 Golden Globes was up a total of 14 percent (17 million viewers) from last year, the tape-delayed Grammys was up a whopping 35 percent with an average of 25.8 million viewers; the surge in viewership was mainly due to Internet chatter about Pink's nearly-nude acrobatics and Lady Gaga's over-the-top, spectacular opener with Elton John.

The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmys will broadcast (live?) nationwide August 29 on NBC.
