'American Chopper' Canceled
Apparently, 'American Chopper' has been, well, chopped.TMZ is reporting that TLC's popular motorcycle reality series has been canceled, and will air its final episode this Thursday, Feb. 11.
"The Teutuls will always be a part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run," a rep for the network said.
The show debuted on the Discovery Channel back in 2003, and lasted an impressive six seasons following the exploits of the Orange County Choppers' bike shop; at the end of 2007, it moved to Discovery's sister network, TLC. It also spawned two 'American Chopper' video games and a short-lived parody on Comedy Central.
At the center of the show was Paul Teutul, Sr. and his two sons, Michael and Paulie Jr. In recent years, the show spawned a bit of bad blood, including when Paulie got "terminated" at the beginning of season 6.
But the drama didn't end there: In December, TMZ reported that Teutul had sued his son for over $1 million in stock options.
Still, over the years, the Orange County Choppers hosted a number of A-list celebrities for whom they designed custom bikes, including Lance Armstrong, Will Smith, Bill Murray and Russell Crowe. With this kind of client list, we're pretty sure that Orange County Choppers will continue riding hard.
