James FrancoIn honor of Valentine's Day, AOL TV's staff will be revealing their crushes all week.

We all know that James Franco is good-looking. In fact, there have been studies to prove it.

But his looks, however wonderful, are just a small (albeit essential) reason I consider him to be the ultimate man. While the majority of young Hollywood seems to be on auto-pilot, Franco is constantly challenging himself by taking on a slew of difficult roles, ranging from James Dean, to Allen Ginsberg to my personal favorite Franco performance, Scott Smith in 'Milk.' And even when he does something completely out of left field, like oh, I don't know, guest star on 'General Hospital,' the payoff is guaranteed to be awesome (see below).

Plus, he has brains -- or so it seems, based on his current stay at both Columbia and NYU. Sure, he fell asleep during class, but, really, who hasn't?

Okay, and he's hot, too.

Below, check out some of James Franco's best moments.
