Minka Kelly Finds 'True Love'

It's almost Valentine's Day, and for CBS, that means that love is in the air. And not just any kind of love, mind you, but the best kind of all: 'True Love.' Yes, according to the Hollywood Reporter, work continues apace on the pilot for CBS's new sitcom 'True Love.' The latest victim to fall under Cupid's spell? 'Friday Night Lights' actress Minka Kelly.
Kelly, of course, was one of the breakout stars of 'Friday Night Lights,' but thanks to the nature of that show, her character had to be written out due to the pesky reality of high school graduation. Since then, Kelly has also appeared in the CW pilot 'Body Politic,' which the network surprisingly decided to pass on despite strong buzz in the media.

The CW's loss is CBS's gain, however, even if 'True Love' doesn't sound like the freshest concept to hit the airwaves. Stop us if you've heard this one, but the sitcom will follow the adventures of four young New Yorkers as they fall in and out of love with each other.
We're not sure if this sort of thing only happens to residents of New York City or if they're just more likely to indulge in self-referential navel gazing on national television, but we do give the network marks for at least being unusually specific with its details about 'True Love.' For instance, the Hollywood Reporter indicates that Kelly will play Kate, a woman who "falls in love with Henry at the top of the Empire State Building and often tackles her cousin and best friend, Connie, to the ground in order to get her way."
Tackling, huh? Well, we guess what they say is true: you can take the girl out of 'Friday Night Lights,' but you can't take 'Friday Night Lights' out of the girl.
