Paul Reiser Is Thinking About a Return to NBC

Paul reiser mad about youPaul Reiser, one of the stars of NBC's "Must See TV" heyday of the 1990s, is reportedly returning to the Peacock Network. Thankfully, he's not producing a hokey reality game show like his pal, Jerry Seinfeld.

Reiser, co-creator and star of NBC's hit sitcom 'Mad About You', is executive producing and starring in a new single-camera pilot backed by Warner Bros. Word is that NBC has picked up the project, possibly to help fill the coming gaps in its schedule thanks to Leno's return to late night.

Being a fan of 'Mad About You' – and one of the few saps who actually bought and read one of Reiser's silly little guides to modern life – I'm looking forward to seeing the guy head back to TV, even if this just sounds like an attempt by NBC to recapture its former glory.

What can we expect from Reiser's new show? The story details haven't leaked yet, but I doubt he'll stray too far from fluffy relationship and family comedy.

Let's hope Reiser can lure some top-notch talent to the new gig, like he's done with his previous projects. His past co-stars include Oscar winner Helen Hunt, the legendary Peter Falk, and a talented Border Collie mix named Murray.

Paul and Helen were the most believeable couple on TV! Pure delight except for the last show protraying them through their daughter's eyes. What a let down. I'll watch a new show of his for sure.

Looking forward to Paul's new show; 'Mad About You' was GREAT! One of my favorite shows was the one with Eric Stolz as Helen Hunt's ex, always in competition with each other, very funny!

Actually, Murray was the dog's name on the show. His real name was Maui. I can't BELIEVE I remember that (or even knew it to begin with.)

The 3 funniest Mad About You shows were: Jamie & Paul pretend to be his parents to take the parents place on a cruise ship, when Jamie goes back to college and Paul forgot to send in all her paperwork, and when he filming himself & Jamie for a 'truthful look at how the film makers live at home'.

I enjoyed Mad About You, until got too serious with the mix of comedy and drama. Whatever Reiser comes up with this time around will be worth at least one look. And maybe he'll have another hit. God knows NBC could use that!

Jerry Seinfeld, who was part of the greatest cast and greatest show in TV history, ought to be ashamed of himself. He doesn't have to put out his garbage (to paraphrase Woody Allen) anymore. He is putting it all on TV now!

Why does it have to be single camera?

If he wants a hit, Reiser will bring Danny Jacobson back for development.
