Cuse and Lindelof Give Some Clues About the 'Lost' Timeline(s)

LostIf you're not listening to the weekly 'Lost' podcast, you're missing out on a lot of great stuff. I didn't start listening to it until recently, and I've discovered that not only are the podcasts entertaining, they're giving a lot of clues as to what's happening on the island (and these are official clues, not rumors or theories that you might find on other sites - though producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are more than a little coy in the podcasts).

What jumped out to me in the podcast posted after the season premiere last week has to do with the timeline(s).

Every 'Lost' fan has been referring to the "flash sideways" scenes off the island as an "alternate reality" or an "alternate timeline," but Cuse and Lindelof don't use this term. In fact, Lindelof says that to refer to it that way is "borderline offensive" because they say that both of these timelines are real and they both exist.

They hint that maybe - just maybe - the timelines will "reconcile" in some way at some point, but that one timeline is as real as the other. I mean, it's an alternate SOMETHING, but it's real. I'm assuming that Jack's neck injury and Claire suddenly naming her kid Aaron in the alternate something are big clues.

The 'Lost' podcasts are done weekly so there should be another one tomorrow or Friday. They also answer questions from fans. (As Mike mentioned, Jorge Garcia has a podcast too where he gives his own theories about the show.)

Funny fact: Flash sideways is also used on the OFFICIAL 'Lost' website: http://abc.go.com/shows/lost/flash-sideways
